Advanced Practice Provider - Psychiatric Urgent Care

Position Overview

Seattle Children's is seeking a skilled clinical professional to join the region's first pediatric-focused Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic. This program provides same-day in-person and virtual urgent mental health support for youth ages 4 through 17. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver stabilizing, high-quality crisis assessment and intervention.

Key Responsibilities

* Clinical Management:
Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management for pediatric psychiatry patients in ambulatory, community-based (including telepsychiatry), and inpatient settings.

* Evaluation & Treatment:
Obtain patient histories, evaluate patients, and perform physical examinations as appropriate. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans.

* Care Coordination:
Direct or participate in case management and continuing care.

* Collaboration:

Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, psychologists, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high-quality care.

* Quality &

Education:

Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects. Participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Required Education/

Experience:

Master's degree as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program

One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

Required Credentials:

For Nurse Practitioners:

Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington

Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner

For Physician Assistants:

Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington

Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

For All Providers:

Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.

Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life

Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Preferred:

Two years experience in advanced practice provider role

Two years experience in pediatric health care

Compensation Range:

$86,669 - $127,466 per year

Note:

This position is currently eligible for an off-shift premium of up to 7.5% which would increase the total compensation of this role by an additional $6,500 to $9,559 per year.

* This position is eligible for relocation for qualified candidates.
* Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
