Position
A Nurse Practitioner position providing direct clinical care to high‑school students at Ingraham High School in Seattle, Washington.
Responsibilities- Obtain health histories through client/family interviews and chart review.
- Assess presenting illnesses, risk factors, family health history, review of systems, psychosocial and developmental histories, and cultural information.
- Perform physical examinations and comprehensive assessments.
- Order and/or perform appropriate diagnostic and screening tests; collect and interpret additional data for evaluation of illness and wellness.
- Develop differential diagnoses and risk identification through data analysis.
- Implement individual treatment plans, prescribe and dispense medication, and provide ongoing case management.
- Consult with physicians and refer patients to appropriate professionals and community agencies.
- Provide education on a variety of health topics to student groups in classroom settings.
- Promote SBHC services to the student body and staff through campus events.
- Maintain and audit SBHC pharmacy inventory in accordance with PHSKC protocols.
- Perform point‑of‑care laboratory tests, collect and package specimens for off‑site testing, and maintain laboratory documentation.
- Order, administer, and maintain records for vaccinations.
- Document all clinical care in the electronic health record (EPIC).
- Participate in continuing education, peer review, chart review, and development of practice guidelines.
- Serve as a consultant to the healthcare team, staff, and community; advocate for patients.
- Conduct pelvic exams, diagnose sexually transmitted diseases, and prescribe and manage contraceptive methods, including LARCs and emergency contraception.
- Assess pregnancy gestation and provide counseling and referrals for all pregnancy options.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Washington State registered nurse license in good standing and a bachelor’s degree in nursing science or a graduate nursing degree (MSN, DNP, or PhD) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Washington State license to practice as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Advanced registered nurse practitioner license with prescriptive authority and board certification in a specialty practice.
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and DEA registration.
- Valid BLS CPR certification with AED training.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a care team and with diverse patient populations.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license or sufficient ability to travel to the site.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or résumé submitted prior to consideration.
Fully benefited, 0.8 FTE with Monday‑Friday 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Schedule. The position provides full coverage for the school year and may include weekend or emergency duties as needed.
