Night Shift Registered Nurse – Special Care Unit (SCU)
UW Medical Center-Northwest offers a Night Shift Registered Nurse position on its Special Care Unit, a step‑down progressive care floor with telemetry services.
Work Schedule- 36 hours per week
- 3x12 shift schedule
- Night shifts only (7:00 pm – 7:30 am)
- Training provided for experienced hospital nurses transitioning into step‑down care.
- Close‑knit team that values camaraderie and collaboration.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to critically ill patients, including those with cardiac abnormalities, vascular illness, and diabetic keto acidosis.
- Work with physicians and care managers.
- Assess heart and lung conditions using telemetry equipment.
- Administer IV medications, including heparin drips and vasoactive medications.
- Educate patients and families on ongoing care plans.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Active RN license in Washington State.
- Minimum 1 year recent inpatient hospital RN experience.
Pay Range: $45.59 – $83.64 per hour.
Other Compensation:
- BSN (or higher) premium – $1.00 per hour.
- Certification premium – $1.25 per hour.
- Night premium – $5.00 per hour.
- Weekend premium (Fridays & Saturdays) – $4.00 per hour.
- Sunday night premium – $3.00 per hour.
- Overtime pay.
