RN – Labor and Delivery
Night Shift
Hiring Bonus
: $10,000 hiring bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment – in addition to the standard benefits and compensation package beginning on the first day of employment.
- Labor and Delivery: 30 labor beds
- OB ED: 9 beds total
- OB ORs: 4 operating rooms
- Births:
Approximately 550‑600 per month - Deliveries:
Starting from 22‑23 weeks gestation - NICU:
Level 4 with 77 beds - Teams:
Includes MFM team, Midwifery, OB, Family Medicine - Programs:
Addiction Recovery program for pregnant/laboring patients and postpartum couplets, Doula and Cultural Navigators - 24/7 Services:
Anesthesia, Laborist, and Neonatology - 5 EAST Main L&D Unit: 6 bed OB ED, 14 labor rooms, 2 ORs, Charge RN, and Laborist
- 5 South:
Scheduled C‑sections, overflow labor, occasional Antepartum or Postpartum overflow, Charge RN
- Accountable for ensuring the provision of patient care 24 hours a day.
- Accountable for assigned clinical operations, patient care activities, coordinating patient care delivery on a daily basis in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
- Establishes and enforces standards of patient care and nursing practice pertaining to areas of responsibility; responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring unit‑based quality improvement programs.
- Assures compliance with department standards by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of patient care and reinforcing positive outcomes while demonstrating corrective action for identified problems.
- Accountable for appropriate patient care based on assignments of patients, evaluation of patient care and patient/family satisfaction by conducting rounds and intervening accordingly.
- Assumes the role of patient advocate to clarify and evaluate ethical and/or legal issues, and supports cultural practices.
- Assumes accountability for staff retention by tracking staff turnover rate of all categories of personnel and actively taking steps to reduce turnover among staff.
- Demonstrates clinical competence by assisting with patient care to maintain clinical skills; spends time on all shifts to assess care and to coach, develop, evaluate and advocate for staff.
- Collaborates with the clinical nurse specialist and/or clinical educator to identify, plan, and implement an educational program pertinent to the service and for all levels of staff.
- Hears and adjusts up to step‑two grievances.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
- National Provider NRP – American Academy of Pediatric upon hire.
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery Nursing experience.
The successful candidate’s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The base pay range is posted; additional compensation may be available such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
