Nurse Educator - Surgical Services

Description

Position covers Pre‑Op, PACU, Phase II Recovery Services, Pre‑Anesthesia Testing.

Functions in collaboration with the Director and Nurse Managers to develop and maintain the clinical orientation program and competency of all nursing staff.

• Develop and maintain clinical orientation programs for nursing staff.
• Ensure new nursing staff have resources, support, and knowledge to provide excellent care.
• Focus on Medical/Surgical and Critical Care on evening and night shifts.
• Provide house‑wide education, skill validation, development and coordination of competency programs.
• Coordinate pre‑operative, PACU, and Phase II Recovery Services, including pre‑anesthesia testing.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited registered nurse program.
• If not holding a bachelor's in Nursing at hiring, must be enrolled and actively pursuing one.
• Washington registered nurse license upon hire.
• At least 3 years of current nursing experience in acute care settings.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Master’s degree.
• Teaching degree or equivalent experience upon hire.
