Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Seattle, WA

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Circulate in the OR during obstetric surgical procedures
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing full newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injection, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Perform and interpret electronic fetal monitoring documentation in EPIC
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (compact license accepted)
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment, with high-risk experience required
• Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR
• Competency in newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required

• 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Experience in units following AWHONN staffing guidelines

• Work in a dynamic, high-volume unit averaging 500–600 deliveries per month with a 31-bed facility and 4 dedicated ORs
