Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Circulate in the OR during deliveries and perform newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
- Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum
- Administer and monitor high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring systems; adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units as needed, including sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with at least 2 years in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated high-risk Labor and Delivery experience is required
- Must be able to circulate in the OR — hard stop requirement
- Must be able to perform newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
- Current, valid BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
- Active RN license; compact license accepted
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring
- Work in a high-volume unit with approximately 500–600 deliveries per month across 31 beds and 4 ORs, offering significant clinical exposure and professional growth
- Staffing practices follow AWHONN guidelines, reflecting a commitment to quality patient care and nurse support
