Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process, technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence‑based practice, and coordination with other health team members in a 26-bed Level 1 Trauma Center that is also an Accredited Chest Pain and Stroke Center.

- Potential float to other departments as business needs require
- May be placed on‑call during a scheduled shift
- Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
- Documents patient care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Uses resources as needed.
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization and adheres to service behavior standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments based on business need.
- May be required to be on-call during a scheduled shift.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- One year of licensed RN experience in an Emergency Department and/or high‑acuity setting preferred.
- BLS-HCP certification upon hire or within 60 days of hire; ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate.
- Completion of a BSN within four (4) years for RN with ASN/ADN unless exemption applies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency setting.
- Certification appropriate for the unit or service.
- Regular attendance and ability to work nights and/or weekends.
- Daily reading and interpretation of information, labels, and patient needs.
- Proficiency in operating monitors, identifying equipment, and using computers for documentation.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and ambulate patients, including handling equipment up to heavy weights.
- Capacity to stand for prolonged periods.
