Must-Have:
RN must be skilled with newborn care including assessments, vital signs, glucose screening, baths, complex feeds, and phototherapy.
RN must be skilled in medication administration including magnesium infusions, insulin infusions, PCA/PCEA infusions, and heparin infusions.

Description:

This position is for a postpartum registered nurse.
The nurse will care for mothers and newborns, providing couplet care.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3.
Weekend work is required unless specified otherwise on the schedule.
The nurse will not be required to take call.
Floating within the hospital may be necessary.
Candidates must have experience in patient ratios.
Preference is given to those with experience in a charting system, particularly EPIC.
The nurse will be responsible for administering medications and blood products, as well as conducting patient education.
The work involves high-risk maternal care and managing patients with specific infusions.
Nurses are expected to demonstrate knowledge of metabolic screenings and neonatal abstinence syndrome.
The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
The average daily census ranges from 12 to 36 patients.
Applicants must provide references that demonstrate supervisory experience.
Candidates with local experience are accepted.
All responsibilities must be performed in adherence to established protocols and standards of care.
