Job Description
UW Medical Center – Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Oncology Nurse to join our new Oncology unit.
Department Information4A is an oncology unit serving hematology-oncology and medical-oncology patients. Common diagnoses include lymphoma, sarcoma, and a variety of solid-tumor cancers. This unit specializes in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, management of treatment-related side effects, end-of-life care, and care of cancer-related complications such as pain, immunosuppression, electrolyte imbalances, and organ dysfunction. Specialized equipment includes chemotherapy administration supplies and a carbon-filtered chemotherapy spill PAPR.
This unit is also a resource for central venous access device care and maintenance.
- 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts)
- Variable Day/Night rotations
Job Responsibilities
- Screen patients for oncology treatment
- Place IVs, and initiate, assess and observe patients during infusions
- Provide procedural support
- Document all activities in the Electronic Medical Record
- Provide care management education for patients and their families
- One year of current or recent oncology nursing experience
- ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
- Active BLS Certification
Pay Range Minimum: $45.59 hourly
Pay Range Maximum: $83.64 hourly
Other Compensation:
- BSN (or higher degree) Premium - $1.00/hour
- Certification (Specialty Certs) Premium - $1.25/hour
- Night Shift Premium - $5.00/hour
- Evening Shift Premium - $3.00/hour
- Weekend Shift Premium - $4.00/hour
- Sunday Night Premium - $3.00/hour
- Overtime Pay - $5000
- Relocation Assistance (for eligible new employees)
