Description

The Department of Urology has an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP - ARNP/PA-C) to fill a full‑time, 12 month, academic position at the Teaching Associate level. The anticipated start date for the position is as early as Summer 2026.

Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12‑month service period (July 1–June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12‑month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12‑month period (July–June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The base salary range for this position will be: $10,000 – $14,500 per month ($120,000 – $174,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The ARNP/PA is an integrated role, which includes clinical, education and research components. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Urologic care independently and in concert with appropriate privileges, including initial and ongoing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients’ medical, physical and psycho‑social status primarily in the outpatient setting. This individual will be a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians to actively participate in the care of patients undergoing treatment and prevention at the interdisciplinary Urology Clinic at the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake Campus (UWMC‑ML).

There will be an opportunity to interact and work with Residents and Fellows.

Specific tasks include obtaining relevant patient history, including family and social history; ordering, initiating and/or performing appropriate tests; performing comprehensive physical exams; identifying diagnoses based on history, test result interpretation and assessment; prescribing and/or instituting treatment plans based on assessments and diagnostic tests; prescribing medications as needed; evaluating patient outcomes and adjusting treatments accordingly; post‑operative management; working with systemic therapies for advanced cancer;

dealing with symptom management and palliative care issues; and initiating consultation with attending physicians, fellows, and chief resident. The APP will be expected to respond to patient calls and facilitate nurse questions and communication with patients and will assist with minor surgical procedures in the clinic setting within the scope of practice.
