Registered Nurse - Endoscopy/GI

Location: Burien, Washington

Start Date: 04-06-2026

End Date: 07-06-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Day shifts, 4x10 schedule with staggered start times; example shift times include 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts, minimal call, guaranteed 40 hours/week)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Admit patients for GI procedures and ensure safe, thorough pre-procedure preparation
  • Monitor and manage Phase II recovery following propofol sedation, prioritizing patient safety
  • Provide hands-on technical support during ERCP and other endoscopic procedures
  • Establish and manage IV access and administer medications as ordered
  • Document patient care and procedure details accurately in Epic
  • Assist the procedure team as a Procedure RN, Recovery RN or Admit RN as workload requires
  • Communicate effectively with managers, techs and interdisciplinary team to coordinate high-volume caseloads

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Current Washington state RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy/GI lab nursing experience
  • Strong hands-on ERCP experience required; must be ready to hit the ground running
  • Prior Epic charting experience
  • Proven IV skills and experience with admit/discharge processes
  • Comfort monitoring propofol sedation and Phase II recovery
Education
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
  • ERCP, colonoscopy and EGD procedural knowledge
  • Banding and dilation techniques used in general endoscopy
  • Propofol sedation monitoring and Phase II recovery procedures
  • Epic electronic charting and clinical documentation
  • IV insertion, medication administration and peri-procedural patient care
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload (approximately 15-18 patients per day) and prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication and teamwork in a busy GI/Endoscopy environment
