RN Nurse, Pediatric Nurse
Overview
As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State and the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children’s policies, procedures, and guidelines of care.
ResponsibilitiesProvide safe, family‑centered patient care. Use the Nursing Care Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care collaboratively with the patient, family, significant others, and members of the health care team. Supervise and delegate tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and other staff as defined by State Administrative Code. Support Seattle Children’s strategic goals by incorporating initiatives such as Continuous Performance Improvement, Value‑Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, and Workforce Community and Connection into daily work.
RequiredEducation and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior experience in a pediatric‑related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
Required Credentials- Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area (BLS, PEARS or PALS). BLS must be maintained in current status until the appropriate Life Support Education is obtained.
- Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Pediatric health care nursing experience.
Compensation Range$51.60 - $91.30 per hour.
Salary InformationThis compensation range was calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
