Job Overview
University of Washington Medical Center, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a full‑time Teaching Associate/Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA‑C) for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. The position is a 12‑month academic appointment (July 1–June 30) with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Position DetailsBase salary range: $10,417–$13,750 per month ($125,004–$165,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The appointment is for 12 months but may be renewed for subsequent terms.
Responsibilities- Provide evaluation and medical management to gynecologic oncology patients, including chemotherapy, radiation, postoperative care, and surveillance.
- Work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate patient care and collaborate within scope of practice and institutional privileges under supervising attending physician.
- Perform complex histories and physical examinations, interpret laboratory and imaging studies, and manage acute, symptomatic, and palliative needs of cancer patients.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatment options, and management of treatment toxicities.
- Document patient care data in Epic in accordance with UWP policies.
- Participate in cancer clinical research, patient rounds, conferences, and committees.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of patient management algorithms and standing orders.
- Mentor new ARNP or PA‑C staff, PA and/or NP students.
- Effective communication and clinical skills to ensure optimum patient outcomes in complex care environments.
- Respectful, ethical collaboration with other disciplines for patient and family‑centered care.
- Skilled clinicians providing evidence‑based diagnosis and management of acute, symptomatic, and palliative care needs for cancer patients.
- Ability to effectively communicate information about disease processes, treatments, and management of treatment toxicities to patients and family caregivers.
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant Licensure.
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program and licensure as an ARNP or PA‑C.
- Nationally certified ARNP/PA‑C with DEA.
- Experience working with medically complex patients and clinical teaching experience.
- Proven excellence in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills with clinical expertise in patient care.
- At least 1–2 years of prior APP experience required.
- Prior experience in Women’s Health and/or Oncology highly desired.
- Eligibility to maintain a Washington State medical license.
