Resident Care Manager

Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center, is seeking a Resident Care Manager to coordinate, manage, and supervise resident care. The role includes implementing systems of care, establishing nursing department policies, and ensuring age‑appropriate care for residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain appropriate staffing for facility (recruit, hire, train, discharge as needed).
  • Provide direct supervision of nursing staff (24‑hour accountability).
  • Conduct resident assessments (initial, admission, ongoing, change of condition).
  • Establish and review care plans reflecting resident assessments.
  • Initiate and attend resident care conferences.
  • Address and resolve family and resident complaints/concerns promptly.
  • Complete AIMS, Fall Risk, Skin at Risk, Smoking, Psychotropic medication evaluations, and other assessments.
  • Conduct resident rounds and transcribe physician orders.
  • Handle telephone calls from physicians, pharmacy, and other providers.
  • Order medications from pharmacy and ensure proper documentation in resident systems.
  • Attend departmental meetings and review admissions orders for accuracy.
  • Delegate duties to licensed staff with appropriate qualifications.
  • Implement established protocols in resident care and evaluate medication responses.
  • Ensure compliance with treatment orders and maintain narcotic count logs.
  • Document all incident reports per state regulations.
  • Demonstrate technical nursing skills and coordinate new employee orientation.
  • Complete payroll on time, conduct yearly performance evaluations and competency tests.
  • Counsel, reprimand, or terminate personnel per policies and union contract.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in organizational and community events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Recognition of ANA Standards and Gerontological Nursing Process.
  • Evidence of supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Basic math skills for drug dosage calculation and IV drip rate setting.
  • Problem‑solving and common sense reasoning in care practices.
Education and Experience
  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with current Washington license.
  • Experience in long‑term care preferred.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or LPN.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Obtain Basic Life Support CPR within 90 days and maintain it.
  • Complete pre‑hire and annual TB test screening.
  • Annual influenza vaccine required unless medically or religiously exempted.
  • Exempt employees must wear a mask during flu season while working at all times.
Work Environment

Professional office setting with moderate to high noise from telephones, fax machines, copy machine operations, and background conversation.

Physical Requirements

Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Clear tone of speech, hearing, and close/long distance vision required.
