Position SummaryAs a Medical Assistant at Minute Clinic, you’ll be on the front lines of care—making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives every day. In this fast‑paced and collaborative environment, you’ll use your clinical expertise and critical thinking skills to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care. From assessing patient needs and administering vaccines to partnering with interdisciplinary teams, you’ll play a key role in improving health outcomes and creating a caring, trusted experience for every patient you serve.
Responsibilities- Patient registration and intake, accurately documenting medical history—including illnesses, medications, allergies, surgeries, and family history—using electronic health records.
- Manage waiting room and enhance the overall patient experience.
- Develop and administer mental‑health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function.
- Evaluate complex patient conditions, monitor pain levels, and document treatment responses.
- Apply advanced knowledge of vital sign monitoring to identify and record abnormalities in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature.
- Conduct routine assessments to monitor patient health and ensure overall well‑being.
- Perform medication reviews to identify potential side effects and drug interactions.
- Provide patient‑focused activities and connect patients to community resources for medication administration, self‑care techniques, and disease management.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and continuing education as required.
- Full, active and unrestricted license(s) in the State where Medical Assistant services are provided.
- Active BLS certification to administer Basic Life Support (BLS) and other life‑saving measures, including CPR and operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Experience in documentation of care, medication administration, infection control precautions, assessing patient educational needs, physical assessment, obtaining vital signs, performing point‑of‑care testing and care coordination.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and the clinical care team.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem‑solving ability, adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
- Physical presence in a retail/clinic setting required; ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and arms for clinical tasks.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures and operate computers and clinical equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow safety and infection‑control procedures, including exposure to blood borne pathogens and potentially infectious materials.
- Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care or Emergency Room.
- Experience documenting within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system such as Epic.
- Previous phlebotomy, vaccine administration and point‑of‑care experience.
- Experience with patient registration.
- Experience working in a clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics among staff and patients.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is $18.50 - $42.35 per hour. This range represents the base hourly rate for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
