American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring at least 3 years of ED experience, prior travel experience, and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- Fast-paced Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital Emergency Department
- High-volume unit averaging approximately 175 patient visits per day
- Required skills include ventilator management, IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and conscious/procedural sedation
- ICP monitoring experience is preferred
- Telemetry proficiency is required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias — a competency test will be administered
- Evening and night shifts available:
Eves 3x12s (1500–0330) and Nights 3x12s (1900–0730) - Required to work every other weekend
- Must be available to work the 4th of July and Labor Day weekends
- No on-call requirements
- No floating outside the Emergency Department
- Charting is done in Epic (required)
- On-site parking is available at a daily cost; off-site parking with a shuttle service is also available as an alternative
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Current NIHSS certification required
- Current TNCC and/or ATCN certification required (ATCN preferred)
- Current ENPC and/or PALS certification required (ENPC preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of staff RN experience in an ED at a Level III trauma center or higher (Level I or II preferred);
Level III considered if the facility sees more than 75,000 visits per year - At least 3 years of total ED experience (including travel experience) required
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Epic EMR experience required
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- 2 supervisory references required for consideration
- Care for a diverse, high-acuity emergency patient population in a Level I trauma and teaching hospital environment
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management will be tested prior to placement
- Any prior criminal background disclosures must be noted during the consideration process
- Candidates who have previously worked as staff at UW must have a minimum 18-month separation from the facility before being eligible to work as a traveler
- RTO cannot be accommodated during the first 2 weeks of the assignment and should be kept to a minimum throughout
- Local candidates are welcome to apply with no radius restriction
- Scrubs can be any solid color; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
- Pre-start orientation modules are required (approximately 6–8 hours) and are completed prior to the start date
