Advanced Practice Provider - Ambulatory Psychiatry

Pediatric Psychiatry Role

Join Seattle Children's compassionate team of pediatric mental health experts. In this hybrid Ambulatory Psychiatry role, you will provide comprehensive clinical management for pediatric psychiatry patients across ambulatory, community-based (including telepsychiatry), and acute care environments.

This position offers a flexible schedule blending remote telehealth with approximately one in-person clinic day per week, rotating systematically between our North Clinic in Everett, South Clinic in Federal Way, and Magnuson Clinic in Seattle.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care & Management:
  Serve as a primary clinical provider for pediatric psychiatry patients. Obtain histories, perform appropriate physical evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic testing, prescribe medications, and design evidence-based treatment plans.
• Continuity & Case Management:
  Direct and participate in case management and continuing care to ensure seamless transitions for patients and families across care settings.
• Multidisciplinary
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Partner closely with attending physicians, psychologists, social workers, and interprofessional teams to deliver safe, high-quality, family-centered care.
• Quality & Innovation:
  Contribute to organizational and departmental Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) initiatives to elevate patient outcomes.
• Education & Scholarship:
  Participate in teaching, family education, and departmental research efforts to advance pediatric behavioral healthcare.

Schedule/

Location:

• Telehealth: 2 days/week (remote)
• In-Person: 1 day/week rotating between North Clinic (Everett), South Clinic (Federal Way), and Magnuson Clinic (Seattle)

Required Education/

Experience:

Master's degree as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program

One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

Required Credentials:

For Nurse Practitioners:

Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington

Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner

For Physician Assistants:

Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington

Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

For All Providers:

Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.

Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life

Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Preferred:

Two years experience in advanced practice provider role

Two years experience in pediatric health care

Compensation Range:

$86,669 - $127,466 per year

* This position is eligible for relocation for qualified candidates.*

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
