Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Advanced Specialty Staff RN to join our Outpatient Hematology Oncology team in Seattle, WA. As a BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) Coordinator
, you will play a critical role in coordinating care for patients with blood cancers and transplant needs. This includes assessing their medical, emotional, and financial needs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the care of BMT and Blood Cancer patients from pre‑admission through post‑transplant, ensuring effective communication with all involved parties.
  • Monitoring the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and financial needs of patients before, during, and after the transplant process.
  • Educating patients and families about the disease, treatment options, and procedures related to BMT.
  • Coordinating the transfer of patient care from the Stem Cell Transplant Program back to the referring physician.
  • Managing outpatient drug benefits and advocating for patients to ensure appropriate care is received.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as JCAHO, OSHA, FACT, HIPAA, and NMDP.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Washington Registered Nurse License (must be obtained upon hire).
  • National Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (must be obtained upon hire).
  • At least 1 year of Hematology Oncology Nursing experience in an outpatient setting. (Clinical rotations or residency programs are not considered for this requirement.)
