American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a WA or compact RN license, 1+ year of ER experience, and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- Work in a busy Emergency Department serving adult and pediatric patients
- Department includes Ambulance Triage, ED Holding, and Lobby Triage areas with 11 hallway beds and 29 standard beds for a total of 40
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 19:00-07:30
- Required to work every other weekend
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks with shift start times of 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, and 1900
- Floating to different campuses required
- Must be willing to float between sister facilities as needed
- Uses Epic EMR (preferred)
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and ortho trauma
- Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
- Full SSN and DOB required for submission
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric cases including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac emergencies
- Perform procedures such as chest tube setup/care, RSI, trach care, cardioversion/defibrillation, CRRT/dialysis, and 12-lead EKGs
- Administer breathing treatments and manage rapid infusers and cooling/warming blankets
- Non-holiday DTO is limited to 5 days per week, with additional time added to the end of the contract; requests beyond 5 days require manager consideration
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Former Providence permanent employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify
- Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
