Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 1+ years of ER experience, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/PALS certifications, and a WA or compact RN license.

Details
  • Emergency Department setting caring for adult and pediatric patients across ambulance triage, ED holding, and lobby triage areas
  • Unit includes 11 hallway beds and 29 regular beds for a total of 40 beds
  • Night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Weekend coverage required every other weekend
  • Floating between different campuses is required
  • Schedules are posted every 6 weeks with shift start time options of 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, and 1900
  • Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active WA state or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience required
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
  • Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in continuous IV sedation, vasopressor administration, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
  • Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and ortho trauma
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a combined adult/pediatric ER setting, handling both trauma and non-trauma cases
  • Perform procedures such as chest tube setup/care, RSI, trach care, cardioversion/defibrillation, CRRT/dialysis, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
  • Utilize cooling/warming blankets and rapid infusers as needed
  • Travelers must be open to floating between sister facilities as required
  • Non-holiday discretionary time off (DTO) is limited to 5 days per week added to the end of the contract, with additional time subject to manager approval
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day)
  • Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify
  • Candidates must disclose any previous employment with a Providence facility as permanent staff, travel contractor, or registry/per-diem, including location and dates
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
