American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring strong cardiac tele skills and 2 years of experience in a fast-paced short stay procedure and post-op unit.

• 17-week assignment in the 4SE Observation and Short Stay unit at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Unit specializes in overnight post cath, CTO, PCI, EP, and surgical short stay patients with a strong cardiac focus
• Fast-paced environment with average daily census of 22 patients, up to 6 of whom may require longer stays for medicine or surgery overflow
• Day/Night variable shifts, 3x12 hours  or )
• Weekend shifts required unless otherwise indicated on posted schedule
• Floating required to other acute care floors within scope
• Uses Epic EMR system
• No block scheduling accommodations available

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with telemetry required (hard requirement)
• Must complete Relias EKG telemetry compliance test
• Strong cardiac telemetry skills required
• Experience admitting and discharging patients required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, oxygen administration, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and PCA management
• Additional preferred skills include central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, chest tube management, wound care, insulin drip titration, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care

• Provide nursing care for a cardiac-focused short stay procedure and post-op patient population, including remote and on-unit telemetry monitoring
• Expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
• First-time travelers accepted, provided they have strong cardiac telemetry skills
• Minimal RTO accommodated, and RTO cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no mile radius restriction
• Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Any color scrubs permitted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
