What units are included in the float pool:
Critical Care Unit, Observation, Med Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry and Progressive Care

Patient Ratios:
We have standard AACN CCU staffing. Assignments are 1-2 depending on acuity. You may have 1-3 if the acuity of the assignment is lower and or they have transfer orders
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS - if device trained, yes you can get checked off and take devices if recent and comfortable; WA or Compact License
Common diagnoses/Types of patients:
Medical, Surgical, Neuro and cardiac
Experience or 'Must have' skills: ICU 2 years, high acuity preferred
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips:
Epi
*** Norepi, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, Midazolam, CIS
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge/Res are free
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: yes, usually 1-2 depending on the daily census
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc):
Vent, High flow, Bipap, cpap
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips:
Phillips monitors, at least 1 MT, yes RN read strips
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?):
Yes, self scheduling
Weekend Requirements: 3 weekend shifts per schedule
Holiday Requirements:
Yes
Is there a call or standby requirement? No
How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule? Charge RN creates assignments at RNs choose assignments
Scrub Color/Dress Code:
Royal Blue
Unit/Department specific orientation:
General Hospital Orientation, Myles Modules, Cerner Validation class, on unit orientation
