American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring 3 years of neonatal ICU experience and an active WA or compact RN license
Details- Level III/IV NICU with 77 beds and an average census of 50
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Cares for neonates ranging from 23-24 weeks gestation to over 34 weeks
- Maintains a 1:2 patient ratio
- Utilizes CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency vents, oscillators, and standard ventilators
- Performs blood and blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, and cooling/warming blanket therapy
- Manages PICC/central lines, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps
- No ECMO cases on this unit
- Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
- Rarely admits babies due to a dedicated Admit Nurse role
- Rarely floats to Pediatrics/NBN (newborn care only) or to Issaquah/Edmonds SCN campuses
- Block scheduling available for those preferring 3 or more consecutive shifts
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of Level III NICU experience or 2 years of Level IV NICU experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy and administration of blood/blood products
- Experienced in central line and implanted line care
- Proficient in gastrointestinal feedings (bottle, breast, gavage)
- Skilled in placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
- Competent in medication and emergency medication administration, including neonatal dosage calculations
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, may include Charge RNs/Leads
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day - Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
- Former Providence-affiliated permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify
- Travelers must be open to floating between sister facilities within the system; refusal may result in termination of the assignment
- Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
