American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring surgical tele/open-heart experience, Epic proficiency, and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- Surgical Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
- Supports specialized structural heart patients including LVAD and TAVR cases
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Patient ratio of 1:4, increasing to 1:5 at midnight
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to like units, including sister facilities within the region
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years surgical telemetry experience required, including open-heart and vascular (groin/radial band management)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with IV therapy, central line care, and PICC line management required
- Experience with blood and blood product administration required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of comparable specialty experience within the last 3 years required
- Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardioversion/defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management
- Provide post-op care for open-heart and LVAD patients 24-28 hours post-surgery
- Administer breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, and trach care
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day - All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be granted
- Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former Providence system permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month separation and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
