American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of surgical cardiac tele experience and current Epic EMR proficiency.
Details- Surgical Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes MI, rule-out MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart and vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
- Specialized structural heart support including VAD and TAVR patients
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 at midnight
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to like units and to sister facilities within the state
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active WA state or compact RN license required, in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years surgical cardiac telemetry experience required, including open heart surgery and vascular (groin/radial band management) experience
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- VAD and TAVR experience preferred
- Responsibilities include tele interpretation, dysrhythmia management, cardioversion/defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management
- Provide care for LVAD and open heart surgery patients 24-28 hours post-op
- Perform breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, and blood/blood product administration
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a minimum 3-month separation, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a lower bill rate
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
