Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Schedule

Weekends: intermittent weekend coverage required; managers attempt to accommodate requests. Holiday requirement: must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays.

Assignment Details

Patient ratio: typically 2 patients per nurse across shifts. Orientation: ~24 hours. Block schedule available.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years NICU experience required; 2 years at Level IV NICU accepted per auto-offer rule.
• Active compact license required.
• Required certifications: BLS; NRP commonly referenced.
• Experience with advanced ventilator management, blood/blood product administration, PICC/central line care, feeding tube placement/management, and neonatal dosage calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to neonates and infants in a Level III/IV NICU.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient care.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, report changes to the healthcare team.
• Educate families on care and health management of neonates.

Compliance / Notes

Prior Providence employees must be separated for at least 3 months to qualify for a travel position. Candidates must disclose any prior employment history and references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years.
