Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Circulate in the OR — required for all candidates
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, including newborn care (eyes, Vitamin K injections, thighs) and newborn assessments — required for all candidates
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC electronic health record system
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities that support Mother/Baby care, as needed
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment — no exceptions
- High-risk L&D experience required
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR and perform full newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K, and newborn assessments
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP — proof of current certifications must be submitted
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler; local candidates are accepted
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and standards of practice
- Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
- Work in a high-volume, dynamic L&D unit with 31 beds, 4 ORs, and approximately 500–600 deliveries per month, offering significant clinical exposure and professional growth
