Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Seattle, WA | Acute Care

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care clinic patients
• Circulate in the OR during deliveries — required skillset; candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections (eyes and thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum — required skillset; candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment — no exceptions
• Demonstrated experience with OR circulation and newborn care (eyes, thighs, and newborn assessments) — hard stop requirement
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP — proof must be submitted at time of application
• Must pass clinical review; current Nursys verification required at submission
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered as a local candidate; locals are accepted
• Must commit to working every other weekend, holidays as needed, and 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years required prior to start

• 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and standards of care

• Join a high-volume, dynamic Labor and Delivery unit with 4 ORs, 31 beds, and 500–600 deliveries per month, offering significant clinical exposure and professional growth
• First-time travelers are welcome, and schedules are posted every 6 weeks to support work-life balance planning
