Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Seattle, WA

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

• Provide direct patient care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit supporting a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
• Circulate in the operating room during cesarean sections and other surgical deliveries across 4 ORs
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Perform electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed

• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR — hard stop requirement; candidates without this skill will not be considered
• Competency in newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
• Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required

• 3–5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate fetal monitoring certification preferred
• Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings

• Work in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with approximately 500–600 deliveries per month, offering significant clinical exposure and professional growth
• Staffing practices follow AWHONN guidelines, reflecting a commitment to evidence-based, quality patient care
