Harborview Medical Center, the only Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma and Burn Center for Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho, is seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses to join our exceptional Perioperative Services team.

Unit Description

Harborview's Operating Room is a dynamic, high-acuity environment staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our surgical team performs more than 17,000 procedures annually in 25 state-of-the-art operating suites, supporting 13 surgical specialties, including trauma, vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics, burn, transplant, and more.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Deliver exceptional perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Function in both circulating and scrub roles within your scope of practice.
  • Advocate for patient safety by maintaining sterile techniques and adhering to evidence-based surgical standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver high-quality surgical care.
  • Respond effectively in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability are essential.
  • Support Harborview's commitment to excellence in patient care, education, quality improvement, and innovation.
  • Caring for one of the most diverse and medically complex patient populations in the Pacific Northwest.

SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE
  • Variable shifts (40 hrs./week, split to 8 and 12 hr. shifts)
  • OR nurses, take a maximum of eight standby shifts per year
Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or eligibility to obtain licensure before start date.
  • Two or more years of recent Operating Room nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
