• Experience in a high risk labor and delivery setting

Description:

Candidates must have experience in high-risk labor and delivery. All candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. Must have current supervisory references for evaluation. Candidates will need to circulate during deliveries and provide newborn care including necessary assessments. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is required. Candidates will function in the role of Baby Nurse during the delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.

The unit provides care for midwifery clients and private obstetricians. Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines, and the environment is fast-paced and high acuity. The average daily census is 15 with 500-600 deliveries per month. Nurses are expected to work weekends and holidays as needed. Floating to other units, such as postpartum and antepartum, may be required. Special skills include amnioinfusion, neonatal resuscitation, and management of various medications.

Candidates must complete assigned training modules as part of the onboarding process. References covering recent experience are required prior to start.
