Description:
Locals are offered the same benefits. Candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Candidates without a minimum of 3-5 years of experience will not be considered. Candidates must pass a clinical review without exceptions. Two years of experience in a high acuity and fast-paced environment is required.
Candidates with five years of high-risk experience are preferred, but those with three years may be considered if they have high-risk experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates may be required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Floating may be required to postpartum and antepartum units. Candidates will care for midwifery clients, private OBs, and adult recovery services supporting substance recovery.
Experience in electronic fetal monitoring is valued, and staffing will follow guidelines. The unit handles high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery with all types of deliveries conducted. Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care. Functions in the role of baby nurse during delivery, continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum will be expected. Average daily census is approximately 15 with around 500-600 deliveries per month.
Candidates must be able to work in high-acuity environments. Additional skills required include newborn assessments and management of therapeutic interventions. Candidates must be willing to float between campuses and assist in other units as necessary. References covering the last three years are required during the compliance process before starting. Travelers may float between facilities nearby the contracted facility. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment.
