Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Seattle, WA | Acute Care

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department averaging approximately 66 patients per day, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage a diverse patient population including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, and a heavy behavioral health/psychosis caseload; rare pediatric cases are treated and transferred
• Administer and monitor common drips including insulin, cardiac, sedation, and other critical drips
• Perform lab draws and collaborate with ED techs, physicians, and mid-level providers to deliver coordinated care;
  travelers with triage experience may be assigned to triage
• Monitor telemetry using Philips monitors alongside monitor techs, and manage patients in a fast-track triage flow and designated psych rooms
• Participate in every-other-weekend and some holiday coverage; travelers willing to serve as charge nurse (particularly on nights) are encouraged to indicate interest

• Active RN license valid for practice in Washington State
• Valid Driver's License required at time of submittal
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS certification required

• Minimum one year of emergency department nursing experience
• Strong behavioral health nursing experience given the department's heavy behavioral health patient population
• Prior travel nursing experience, ideally having completed one to two assignments
• Comfort with triage, charge nurse responsibilities, and working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

• Work in a comprehensive Stroke Center and STEMI-receiving facility with 24/7 in-house security, on-site X-ray and CT, and strong interdisciplinary support including ED techs, RT, and both physicians and mid-level providers
