American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management at a Magnet, Level I trauma teaching hospital.

• Med/Surg Tele unit at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 during days and 1:4-5 at nights
• Patient population includes medicine, cardiology, telemetry, surgical/vascular, ortho, neuro/NS, gyn, urology, and trauma cases
• Required to work every other weekend with flexibility for unit needs
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, 3 years highly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required, including at least 2 assignments beyond initial hospital
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response required
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and IV therapy/phlebotomy required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• 2 references required, preferably supervisory
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse population including cardiac, telemetry, surgical, and trauma patients
• Will be tested on interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Solid color scrubs accepted; light blue scrubs also provided on unit
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• Prior UW/facility staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a traveler
• Minimal RTO accommodated; RTO cannot be requested during the first two weeks or orientation week

The $2,168 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
