Role Description

The Registered Nurse role at Nurse America is a full-time, on-site position based in the Washington DC–Baltimore Area. The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions in accordance with established protocols and standards. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, documenting care accurately in patient records, and communicating effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.

The nurse will participate in patient education, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives, while adhering to infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role also involves collaborating with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and supporting a respectful, inclusive, and patient-centered environment.

Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; eligibility to practice in Washington DC–Baltimore Area.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs and symptoms.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR), accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients and families.
  • Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice, with attention to detail and sound clinical judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple patients, prioritize tasks, and remain calm and professional in fast-paced or high-acuity settings.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
    Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered with relevant experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or other specialty certifications are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in hospital, clinic, or long-term care settings is beneficial, particularly in high-demand or underserved communities.
