American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN with telemetry proficiency and 2+ years of neuro experience for a day-shift assignment at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.
Details- Stepdown Neuro unit caring for neurosurgery, neurology, and epilepsy patients
- Patient population includes TBI, craniotomy, craniectomy, aneurysm clipping/coiling, spinal cord injury, stroke, seizure, and altered mental status cases
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required with scheduling flexibility
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope, with travelers floated first
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, though first-time travelers with strong neuro experience will be considered
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- Skills required:
IV starts, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care and management - Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, verified through a competency test
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level 1 Trauma hospital with 500 staffed beds
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and neurological/psychiatric care
- Blue scrubs required
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Holiday coverage requires working 2 holidays and allows only 1 of 3 major holidays off
- RTO limited to no more than 6 days, with no time off permitted during the first 2 weeks or orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Prior UW staff must have 18 months of separation before returning as a travel candidate
- First-time travelers accepted only with strong neuro experience
