American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN with telemetry proficiency and 2+ years of neuro experience for a day-shift assignment at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

• Stepdown Neuro unit caring for neurosurgery, neurology, and epilepsy patients
• Patient population includes TBI, craniotomy, craniectomy, aneurysm clipping/coiling, spinal cord injury, stroke, seizure, and altered mental status cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required with scheduling flexibility
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope, with travelers floated first
• No block scheduling accommodations

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, though first-time travelers with strong neuro experience will be considered
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Skills required:
  
  IV starts, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care and management
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, verified through a competency test
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level 1 Trauma hospital with 500 staffed beds
• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and neurological/psychiatric care
• Blue scrubs required
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Holiday coverage requires working 2 holidays and allows only 1 of 3 major holidays off
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days, with no time off permitted during the first 2 weeks or orientation week
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Prior UW staff must have 18 months of separation before returning as a travel candidate
• First-time travelers accepted only with strong neuro experience
