American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of surgical tele experience and Epic proficiency.
Requirements- Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of surgical telemetry experience required
- Open heart surgery and vascular (groin/radial band management) experience required
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with cardioversion, defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management required
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with LVAD and post-op open heart care (24-28 hours post-op) required
- VAD and TAVR experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Surgical Cardiac Telemetry Unit caring for MI, rule-out MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart and vascular surgery patients
- Also cares for coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
- Supports specialized structural heart patients including VAD and TAVR
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with up to 1:5 at midnight
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to like units, including sister facilities within the state
- Epic EMR experience required
- Responsibilities include breathing treatments, chest tube set-up and care, CPAP/BiPAP, and trach care
- Administer blood and blood products as needed
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
- Provide telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management both on-unit and remotely
- Must be flexible to floating between sister facilities as required
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible
- Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate
- Candidates residing within 50 miles are subject to local candidate rules
