Registered Nurse - PPS Coordinator at UW Medical Center - Montlake

Job Description University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to work on our Rehab unit as the PPS Coordinator.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS The Inpatient Rehabilitation PPS Coordinator performs professional duties supporting the accurate compiling of data and the subsequent data analysis related to the Prospective Payment System. This person is responsible for the ongoing training and education regarding the reimbursement structure and supporting documentation which assists in compliance from a regulatory perspective. This position works closely with all members of the rehabilitation team to ensure continuity of care and efficient use of resources by focusing on CMS regulatory requirements.

ur 16-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit is rated as #8 for Rehabilitation in the nation, by U.S. News and World Report, and continues to hold CARF (Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) certification. Rehab nurses provide specialized nursing care to patients with the following: spinal cord injury or disease (including tetraplegia with mechanical ventilation); acquired brain injury; stroke; tumor; amputation; neuromuscular diseases;

musculoskeletal diseases; solid organ, blood, and marrow transplants; and mechanical circulatory support devices (VADs). Rehabilitation is provided by an interdisciplinary team composed of the patient and family and individuals from many health care disciplines.

REQUIREMENTS At least 2 year of current/recent inpatient rehab nursing experience PPS certification (preferably obtained within 3 years of hire) or PPS boot camp completion within one year of hire.

Ability to analyze and interpret data as it relates to patient outcomes and fiscal management.

Experience related to management: problem solving, team leading, conflict resolution, and financial and quality improvement.

Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington and BLS certification

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
