Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Seattle, WA | Acute Care

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30)

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care — including eyes, vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments — until transfer to postpartum; this is a hard-stop requirement
• Circulate in the OR for obstetric surgical cases across 4 operating rooms; this is a hard-stop requirement
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units as needed, with potential float to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby care
• Document and operate within EPIC (hard-stop requirement) and perform electronic fetal monitoring; staffing follows AWHONN guidelines

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• High-risk Labor and Delivery experience required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment (avg. 500–600 deliveries/month; avg. daily census of 15)
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler; local candidates are also welcome to apply

• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings

• First-time travelers are welcome — this is an opportunity to gain experience in a high-volume, full-scope Labor and Delivery environment with a well-established unit
• Work within a structured, guideline-driven unit (AWHONN standards) that values clinical experience and supports professional growth
