Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum — this is a hard-stop requirement
- Circulate in the OR — this is a hard-stop requirement; unit includes 4 operating rooms
- Perform newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum as needed, including potential float to sister facilities that support Mother/Baby care
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
- High-risk L&D experience required; must be comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring (EPIC is a hard-stop requirement)
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate; locals are welcome
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and high-volume delivery environments (500–600 deliveries/month)
- Work in a dynamic, high-acuity L&D unit with a broad scope of practice including OR circulation, newborn care, and high-risk obstetrics
