Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Seattle, WA | Acute Care

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum — this is a hard-stop requirement
• Circulate in the OR — this is a hard-stop requirement
• Perform newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate; utilize electronic fetal monitoring
• Float to postpartum and antepartum as needed, with potential float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
• High-risk L&D experience required; must be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring required
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates are accepted

• ACLS certification
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification
• Experience supporting patients in substance recovery programs
• Familiarity with staffing practices aligned to AWHONN guidelines

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this assignment
• Work in a high-volume unit with approximately 500–600 deliveries per month, offering strong clinical exposure across all types of Labor & Delivery cases
