Part‑time Licensed Veterinary Technician II

Pet Vet Care Centers’ Cat Clinic of Seattle is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician II to join our dedicated team. Our hospital is built on a culture of care and offers a supportive environment for professionals who are passionate about animal health.

Position Overview

The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing quality veterinary care and exceptional client service. Responsibilities include determining patient requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostics, assisting during surgeries and procedures, nursing hospitalized patients, managing supplies, overseeing triage, discharging patients, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical and surgical care
    • Assist with medical and surgical procedures, preparing animals, instruments, and equipment.
    • Induce and monitor anesthesia, providing post‑operative care.
    • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
    • Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals, including bandages and critical‑care management.
    • Perform dental prophylaxis and assist with dental procedures.
    • Offer emergency first aid and assist with triage.
  • Diagnostics and laboratory work
    • Run lab tests on blood, urine, and tissue samples.
    • Perform X‑rays and other imaging procedures.
    • Collect specimens for laboratory testing, including blood draws.
    • Monitor and record vital signs such as heart rate and respiration.
  • Client and record management
    • Educate clients on procedures, at‑home care, nutrition, and preventive health.
    • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medical records for each patient.
Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) as required by state law.
  • Passion for cats.
  • Minimum one year of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
  • Knowledge of surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and post‑operative recovery.
  • Proficient in catheter placement, phlebotomy, emergency medicine, and digital radiology.
  • Ability to identify and limit exposure to bites, scratches, and other injuries.
  • Competence in patient restraint per standard procedures.
  • Capability to fill prescriptions and monitor sedation procedures under veterinarian direction.

  • Wednesdays and Fridays, 8 am – 5:30 pm

Pay Range

$28.50 — $31.35 USD
