Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA (North Hills) – inviting a Veterinarian Hospitalist to join our team in a large referral setting which includes 7 criticalists at our Pittsburgh locations. We have a house officer program consisting of rotating interns, emergency and critical care interns and residents, and surgical interns and residents, leading to a collaborative team offering high‑quality medicine and patient care.
Asa Veterinarian Hospitalist you will :
- Diagnose and treat animals with illnesses and injuries.
- Evaluate patient status, make timely treatment and diagnostic plans/orders, administer medications, interpret diagnostic test results, communicate effectively with the pet owner/client and primary care veterinarian, and collaborate on patient care with other veterinarians within the practice.
- Dress animal wounds and treat animals with fractures.
- Write prescriptions for sick animals.
- Complete appropriate documentation and request referrals from other specialists as needed.
- Serve as a hospital leader in setting a pleasant, engaging, and professional work environment.
