Job Purpose and Summary
As a Pharmacy Technician you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within a retail store. You are the first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
Responsibilities- Follow all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
- Assist in safe and accurate prescription fulfillment across production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off channels.
- Deliver positive patient experiences by showing empathy, offering immunizations, and solving patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories as directed.
- Maintain a high‑performing team culture, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical knowledge.
- Participate in company training and meet state board licensing, registration, and certification requirements.
- Support additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and off‑site clinics where allowed.
- Travel to other stores in the market for shifts as required by business needs.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Concentrate on tasks over time and pivot quickly between tasks.
- Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
- Provide friendly and proactive customer service.
- Use and understand verbal and written communication skills.
- Perform mathematical reasoning for prescription dispensing.
- Resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions.
- Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
- Lift, scan, and bag items (up to 20 lbs).
- Reach overhead, stretch, and use arms and fingers repetitively.
- Stoop and bend to move items between low and high positions.
- Maintain visual acuity for reading and inspecting small parts.
- Perform tasks requiring rapid machine adjustments and precision.
Required
- Meet state board of pharmacy requirements for age, education, and licensure/certification.
- At least 16 years of age if no minimum age is specified.
- High school diploma, equivalency, or active enrollment if no minimum education is specified.
- Complete state and national licensing and certification requirements.
Preferred
- 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and travel to other markets as business needs arise.
Pay Range: $16.00 per hour (base hourly rate). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement savings, and wellness programs.
