Must-Haves- 3-5 years of experience developing and implementing quality programs and product standards or manufacturer and supplier quality system and product quality auditing with an emphasis in materials
- Progressive experience managing the development and review of information required to comply with product safety and quality (3-5 years)
- Quality Management System knowledge including HACCP, GMPs, ISO or GFSI and BRC complaint standards.
- Basic understanding of Food Safety and Quality GFSI requirements.
- Experience with Food contact packaging (paper, plastic, compostable fiber,etc.)
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet
- Background in food safety or similar knowledge
A Fortune 500 company is looking for a Product Manager to focus on Retail Packaging and report onsite in Seattle, WA. This role focuses on ensuring new and innovative packaging solutions meet Starbucks’ quality and food safety standards from development through production. Day to day, the person partners closely with R&D, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to review packaging designs, assess risks, and support testing and feasibility of new materials and technologies.
They lead onboarding and qualification of new suppliers and manufacturing sites—including reviewing documentation, coordinating audits, and confirming readiness for production—while also evaluating process capability and quality systems to ensure consistent output. They participate in supplier and project meetings to align on specifications and testing plans, manage Product Safety Review (PSR) data for compliance, and maintain ongoing communication with supplier quality teams to track progress, address issues early, and drive corrective actions during pilot runs and scale-ups.
Overall, they act as a key quality advisor, balancing speed to market with strict safety, compliance, and performance requirements.
