We are currently recruiting highly qualified candidates whose background and career goals meet our needs for the following position in our Huntsville, AL facility. Due to Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
Position TitleRegulatory / QA Engineer
Job PurposeAccountable for understanding, implementing and revising all aspects of the quality management system. Participates in quality management system development and helps maintain certification. Lead auditor and contact for registrar and customer audits. Performs internal audit to ensure the quality management system is in compliance with ISO & AS9100 standards. Also participates in advanced product quality activities. Supports product/process changes to meet customer requirements on several prime contracts.
Analyzes reports and returned products and recommends corrective action. Prepares documentation for inspection/testing procedures.
- ISO coordinator
- Coordinate and lead external audit for customer and registrar
- Responsible for plant / customer validation reviews
- Report to management on the Quality Management System
- Maintain, review and develop procedures to ensure Quality Management System complies with ISO standards (13485, AS9100, etc.)
- Perform internal audits to ensure processes are in compliance with standards and procedures
- Develop and revise reports, procedures and documents including PFMEA, quality control plans and contract review documents
- Perform data analysis and trend identification on in‑process and finished products to drive root cause and corrective/preventive actions
- Participate in the FRACAS root cause and corrective action process for customer returns
- Perform material review board dispositions on suspected material
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline
- Minimum 12 years experience as a Quality / Regulatory Engineer in a manufacturing environment; preferably in the electronic manufacturing industry
- Six Sigma green projects and lean events preferred but not required
- Familiar with standards/specifications/regulatory compliance, including government
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and communicate
- Ability to read and interpret standards and part‑specific technical prints and drawings
- Solid experience with standard quality tools and documentation (SPC, MSA, FMEA, control plans, Six Sigma, Pareto analysis, APQP, PPAP, ISO
9001/IATF
16949) - Ability to translate customer quality requirements into executable plans
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Familiarity with Agile databases and their use is highly desirable
