Job Description & How to Apply Below
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Are you ready to architect the digital backbone of tomorrow? We're seeking a CDR Network Plan Performance Manager to drive root cause analysis of build plan misses, identify systemic gaps in planning assumptions, and lead improvement initiatives that raise the bar on plan accuracy and execution reliability. The build plan determines what and how many server racks we can build each week given material and capacity constraints across a 13-week rolling horizon.
You will be embedded in this end-to-end process - examining every input and assumption to ensure we are measuring what matters and improving where it counts. As the CDR planning function matures and additional planning elements are introduced (e.g., Landing Plan), the scope of this role will expand accordingly.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven problem solver with deep supply chain or operational planning experience, a relentless curiosity for understanding "why," and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable process improvements at scale.
Key job responsibilities
Root Cause Analysis & Investigation:
Conduct structured root cause analyses (RCAs) on build plan misses - investigating material availability, capacity constraints, vendor delivery, and other inputs that drive the 13-week build horizon. Investigate planning assumptions and inputs to determine where breakdowns occur - distinguishing between data quality issues, process gaps, constraint modeling errors, and execution failures. Document findings with clear causal chains and evidence to support corrective action recommendations.
Performance Measurement & Metrics:
Develop and maintain performance metrics that track build plan adherence (racks planned vs. racks built per week), assumption accuracy, and supply chain input reliability. Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into performance trends, miss categories, and improvement trajectories. Analyze historical performance data to identify recurring patterns, seasonal effects, and systemic vulnerabilities.
Improvement Initiatives:
Own and drive improvement initiatives end-to-end - from problem identification through solution design, implementation, and impact measurement. Partner with Build Plan, Landing Plan, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to implement process changes that address identified root causes. Develop business cases for improvement investments and track ROI of completed initiatives.
A day in the life
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence:
- Work across organizational boundaries to gather data, validate hypotheses, and drive alignment on corrective actions.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, translating complex analyses into clear narratives.
- Participate in planning forums and reviews, representing the performance perspective and advocating for data-driven decision making.
Process & Framework Development:
- Contribute to the development of performance management frameworks, RCA methodologies, and miss categorization taxonomies.
- Identify opportunities to automate performance tracking and anomaly detection across the build plan cycle.
- Document best practices…
