Jewelry Quality Assurance Inspector
The Jewelry Quality Assurance Inspector carefully inspects finished jewelry pieces to ensure they meet defined quality standards and customer specifications. This role focuses on identifying cosmetic and workmanship defects, verifying measurements and appearance, and documenting inspection results with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
Responsibilities- Perform detailed visual inspections of jewelry products to identify defects such as scratches, discoloration, missing components, and imperfections in overall finish quality.
- Verify product specifications, measurements, and appearance against established quality standards and customer requirements.
- Use magnifiers, microscopes, calipers, and other precision inspection tools to examine gemstones, metal components, clasps, settings, and assembled pieces.
- Inspect gemstones and metal parts for proper placement, alignment, security, and overall craftsmanship.
- Review assembled jewelry pieces to confirm accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality guidelines.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately using basic computer and documentation tools.
- Report quality issues, trends, and concerns to supervisors in a timely manner to support corrective actions.
- Sort, organize, and identify products that require rework or repair based on inspection findings.
- Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines during all inspection activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support consistent quality and productivity.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to meet production and quality targets.
- Perform repetitive inspection tasks while maintaining focus, accuracy, and attention to detail over extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify minor cosmetic and workmanship defects in jewelry products.
- Proficiency in quality inspection practices, including visual inspection and defect identification.
- Experience or familiarity with jewelry inspection, including gemstones, metal components, clasps, settings, and assembled pieces.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools such as magnifiers, microscopes, and calipers to verify product specifications.
- Good manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination for handling small, delicate components.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to perform accurate documentation and recordkeeping of inspection results.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive inspection tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Organizational skills to sort, track, and manage inspected products and items requiring rework or repair.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, demonstrating foundational education and literacy.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in quality inspection, production, assembly, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Background or interest in jewelry, gemstones, or fine metalwork is beneficial.
- Experience with quality control processes, procedures, or standards in a production setting.
- Strong communication skills to clearly report issues and collaborate with supervisors and team members.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions, quality procedures, and safety guidelines consistently.
