Performance Systems Development (PSD) is seeking aTechnical Specialist to join the Program Delivery Team. The Technical Specialist will perform comprehensive quality assurance inspections on homesparticipatingin various utility programs in the greater Seattle, WA area.
This role is field-based, customer-facing, and essential tomaintainingprogram integrity andclientsatisfaction.
As a technical Specialist you will:
Conduct QA inspections on new homes.
This entails collecting data to include blower door testing, duct testing,healthand safetytestingas well as other measurements.Coordinate with program trade allies to schedule eachweek’s inspection schedule.
Report on inspection progress and/or issuesencounteredduringinspections.
Providetechnicalassistanceand support to HERS Raters, home builders, and other program participants/stakeholders.
Verify project submittalscomplywithprogram policies and procedures.
Review energy savings calculations and project specifications and manage records in program database.
Recruit program trade allies.
A passion for energy efficiency and sustainability in new construction.
A strong work ethic with the ability to work independentlywithkeenattention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Building science background, including energy efficiency certifications (RESNETHERS Rater,HERS Modeler, RFI,BPIBuilding Analyst); green building certifications (NAHB, LEED); and/or related areas.
Aminimum of six (6) months hands-on field experience inenergy auditing,construction,or a related field.
Physical Demands:
Frequent computer use requiring periods of sitting and close audio-visual concentration. Be able to lift diagnostic testing equipment (blower door, etc., up to 50lbs).Work Environment:
Field work is performed both outside and inside of buildings in varying weather conditions. Field work will include accessing attics, basements, crawlspaces, and other locations associated within the built environmentTravel Requirements:
Daily travelrequiredwithin the program territory, with occasional overnight stays as needed.
